Sun on my face, moon in my heart! Happy Full Moon in Leo!

Happy Full Moon in Leo!

We are in the beginning stages of the Aquarian age. We are moving away from the it's all about me, and more towards awareness of the collective. Baby steps feel euphoric and exciting. We also fall down. It’s such an exciting time. It also is exhausting. Higher realms of consciousness take patience and practice.

A simple but sometimes unconnected truth is that a happy, loving community is made up of happy, loving people. To get to that place of all beings happy and free, (Loka Samantha Sukhino Bhavantu) we sometimes forget to include ourselves. Where are you betraying yourself? Where are you shortchanging joy? Where is my wild Leo-the-Lion roar of self expression muted? Even a little…

Astrologers say today is the luckiest day of the year because the sun aligns with Jupiter. Saturn, the planet of discipline and purpose, opposes the Moon and conjuncts the Sun-Jupiter connection, which is astrological speak for it presents challenges. It demands we balance a dose of reality with our euphoria. It requires we ask ourselves hard questions and actually do something about the answers that, in the light of this big full moon energy, don't make our heart’s shine with delight.

Yoga is moving and stretching , it’s also about listening. How well you listen to your life is part and parcel of being in your power (a very Leo alignment) and shining as brilliantly as you were meant to. How well you listen to your life? You were born loved and needed; whole like a full moon. Every tool you need to live ablaze with passion, love, and purpose. This is a great full moon to reflect and reclaim how far you’ve come, the courage you’ve summoned to be standing exactly where you are today. Some call it luck, some call it gratitude. Celebrate you while also asking yourself the deep questions.

Saturn and the pandemic ensure we hang here a bit longer. Who knows how long and here is both location and mindset. It might feel like a bummer on this ‘luckiest day of the year” but it can also be an opportunity to reflect and find serenity amidst tumultuous times.

AA’s Serenity Prayer is helpful not just for people who struggle with drinking, but inner demons of all kinds and can give us wise council on navigating our next glorious steps as we all march forward together.

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
the courage to change the things I can,
and the wisdom to know the difference.

Shine On!
